We, The Purple Party, do not believe in raising taxes. The American people work hard for their money and they deserve to keep it. We also do not believe in raising taxes on small businesses because these businesses create jobs which will boost our economy. We do not believe in raising direct taxes on oil companies, because we want to continue economic growth. Instead, we will cut subsidies they receive to reduce government expenditures. Because we are not directly raising taxes, we will institute a 7% tax at the pump (currently the tax in 5%) which will hopefully cause people to use less gas while raising money for the government. Also, the corporate tax rate is currently out of control. Many businesses have moved their businesses over seas to avoid having their profit taxed by as much as 40%. This is a huge loss to America. We would instigate a much lower step tax with the largest businesses only paying 15%. This would make it much more reasonable and businesses could move back to or stay in the United States which would bring in a lot more money that would stay in America.
