The Purple Party understands the basic right and need for American citizens to protect themselves and their families. Therefore, we believe it is your right to own a gun. However, we know that strict gun control laws are still needed. It is not alright to allow just anyone to purchase a gun. There would still be through background checks and other such measures to help ensure the safety of everyone. The constitution gives you the right to bear arms and we would never remove such a fundamental right.
